You get a plethora of solutions that become available to you by virtue of having a large system of DevConnect Technology Partners. These help you meet the challenges you face in everyday business and even open up new opportunities that help you collaborate better with your employees and to offer your existing customers enhanced services. However, one cannot rule out the challenges faced in business process outsourcing, where you need to source solutions in a much larger scale. You need to be adept at negotiating contracts and process purchase orders with several vendors, at the same time.
The introduction of DevConnect Select Product Program from Avaya will henceforth enable innovative applications that can be ordered directly. This is a much more simplified process for customers buying technology that is compatible with Avaya and throws open fresh opportunities in the market for all developers and channel partners. The applications that were till recently available only with partner companies of DevConnect and their resellers will now be available directly. Customers can now do away with the need to deal with multiple vendors as the process is now simplified for the customers as well as the Avaya Connect Channel partners. The applications are selected by Avaya on the basis of interoperability that has been already tested through Compliance Testing at DevConnect, hence are assured of the capabilities they enhance the Avaya portfolio with.
The initial program is to have eight partners for DevConnect, who will act as Technology Partners and offer technologies that range from monitoring that promises to be innovative, to reporting functions and predictive dialing that can handle a large inflow of calls. The added benefits will be E911, automatic call recording, and IP video that should be a great help, especially for small businesses. The following are the eight companies selected: Xima Software, CRI (Communication Resources Inc) DATEL Software Solutions, Conveyant Systems, Integrated Research, VBrick Systems, NMS Adaptive, and 911 ETC.
For now, the Avaya DevConnect Select Product Program is to be made available only for the customers based in the United States. However, the Program is expected to cover several areas globally, in a phased manner. The implementation, delivery, tech support and service shall be provided by the companies under Select Product Program. Avaya DevConnect is to ultimately be a global program that covers over 145 countries worldwide. The global outsourcing companies and contact centers across the world stand to benefit from the investment they would be making for their communication needs.
Avaya have made their approach simpler and in collaboration with channel partners and customers. This enables them to associate directly with DevConnect Technology Partners and enhances their product positioning, which in turn helps garner the necessary after sales support they may require. Customers will now be able to purchase Avaya’s or any third party’s products or services, all coming in a single invoice. As per one of the Select Product partners, VBrick, this seems to be a bold step from Avaya, who are renowned market leaders with an unquestioned monopoly in their area of specialization. The organization seems to be thinking differently, and trying to keep up with the changing times. This shows the agility of Avaya and their firm belief in the value of an ecosystem. The program envisages a solution to the customers’ problems, which is rendered in a way that is acceptable to them and to the resellers involved.
The DevConnect Select Product Program products have been carefully selected after a lot of deliberations, that too from among several hundred solutions that have been tested for compliance. Hence the DevConnect Technology Partners are in an unassailable position where they can offer unmatched implementation and unwavering support.
